Gear pumps
Gear pumps are a type of positive displacement pump that moves fluid by using the meshing of gears to create a continuous flow. They are commonly used for pumping high-viscosity fluids, such as oil. The basic design of a gear pump consists of two interlocking gears, typically called the driver and the idler.
Piston pumps
Piston pumps are another type of positive displacement pump that uses reciprocating pistons to move fluid; these pumps are characterised by a cylinder and piston mechanism. There are various designs of piston pumps including axial piston pumps, radial piston pumps, and swashplate piston pumps. Radial piston motors
Radial piston motors are a type of hydraulic motor that converts hydraulic pressure into mechanical rotational motion. These motors belong to the axial piston motor family but differ in the arrangement of their pistons. In radial piston motors, the pistons move radially (outward from or inward toward the centre of rotation) rather than axially (in a straight line along the axis of rotation).
