What is PTO power take-off?
Power take-off (PTO) is a device that transfers an engine’s power to another piece of equipment.
Some equipment such as dredgers and road planers require power to function in their intended purpose. Without the use of a PTO unit, you would need a second engine in order to run hydraulic pumps or other hydraulic attachments which is not practical. Power take off is therefore a useful solution to allow power to secondary functions.
